It is a smart cap that fits medicine containers with screw caps, while an adapter allows it to be used on standard syrup bottles as well. Medicap was created in the medical context of interactive digital patient solutions and helps address the issue of medication adherence.

It reminds the patient when to take their medication, and also informs them about the remaining volume in the bottle, the drug’s expiration date, and the temperature in case the medicine is stored in an unsuitable environment. The data collected by the device is transferred to a mobile device via a wireless Bluetooth Low Energy connection, allowing treatment tracking through a dedicated app.

Medicap is a project born from an idea by the Agevoluzione team, who engineered and produced the electronics; design and prototyping were handled by ildoppiosegno.
