DESIGN FOR SAMSUNG || YEAR 2012

Stefania Solari, collaborator of ildoppiosegno design studio among the winners at the Samsung Young design award 2012 with the Wow!ndow project, an interface for cars that uses amoled displays for interactive communication between the interior and exterior of the passenger compartment.

Inspiration: Windshields and vehicle windows are invisible witnesses of moments of strong communication.

Wowindow is an intelligent flexible screen with Amoled technology applied to an electrostatic film so that it can be easily positioned on car windows, its function is to put the interior and exterior of the passenger compartment in communication.

The screen can be rolled up and also used on other means such as the train, the plane, the bus.

The driver can use wowindow to communicate with pedestrians or other vehicles; the car passengers use it to interact with the external context which is captured and processed thanks to a kinetic micro-camera.

The screen uses various technologies including gesture recognition and the more traditional touch, in this way the driver and passengers are left with total freedom of interaction.
